Artisans archipelagos Tuamotu-Gambier will be honored on the occasion of the 4th exhibition and sale organized by them to the French Polynesia Assembly of 23 November to 6 December 2015.
AThis event is organized by the artisan committee Tuamotu-Gambier Te Mata keinanga, chaired by Ms. Judy MATA, with the support of the Presidency of French Polynesia and the traditional crafts of service.
To this end, artisans atoll Ahe, Fakarava, Hao, Kauehi, Kaukura, Napuka, Takaroa, Takapoto, Tatakoto and the island of Papeete Rikitea gather to share their culture and know-how in the field of traditional crafts.
During the 14-day exhibition, the works will be offered on "The wonders of our lagoons", "Te o te haga taoga Toau" in paumotu reo.
Artisans will discover the magic of transforming raw materials they have collected in the sea or in the lagoons of their fenua for curtains, lampshades, vases, wreaths or head ornaments and other shell parts. A range of products crafted from coconut will also be on the shelves of our craftsmen from woven baskets with flippers on coir bracelets or hats in kere.
Visitors will also have the pleasure of participating in lively days by demonstrations and tablecloth manufacturing competition of decorative mirror, making multiple products from their archipelago.
The atmosphere is ensured by the artisans, especially on weekends, including Saturday, December 5 through cultural entertainment dances, songs, legends and paripari fenua.
