The famous night club takeover by Stéphane Gay, the current owner and manager of Bora Bora lounge, inaugurated its opening this October 13 and took the name, the decor and atmosphere of the famous Piano Bar.
"I open the Piano bar" announces Stéphane Gay, the owner and manager of Bora Bora lounge. "But you oaks as before?", Question the curious and nostalgic aware of the project. "Yes!" Replied the manager. "We change some glitter, we renovated some furniture items but everything will be as establishing yesterday." Same layout, same input and especially same atmosphere. "An atmosphere a bit like Michou in Paris, with a mixed clientele and rae rae in the heart of the often improvised performances."
Stéphane Gay is a graduate of the Hotel School Le Castel in Dijon. He then followed the sommelier studies. He created a restaurant in Burgundy at the age of 22, has worked around the world: England, New Zealand, Australia, New Caledonia, Singapore, Reunion ... In Tahiti, he held the nightclub Calypso . "She was almost abandoned when I resumed, it was in full swing when I left." When he returned to Polynesia it launched the Bora Bora lounge, it was in June 2013.
This property makes bar, brasserie, restaurant and nightclub upstairs, many parties are organized. Concerts, karaoke, shows. "We have enough space. When there's karaoke for example, customers who only come to the restaurant disturbed." This is what decided the redemption of Delirium, former Piano bar. "The project also responds to requests, there are many nostalgic piano bar, the people here but also tourists. Since I opened the Bora Bora lougne I see them get off the ships come and ask me where is the famous animated box by rae rae. They do not come every day, but it is regular. I miss! " Thus the idea of the famous nightclub reopening was confirmed.
The Piano Bar, opened in 1960 and held by Françoise Fontaine was in all the guides, recommended and frequented by many Polynesians visited by tourists. The Lonely Planet described: "The Piano bar was the gathering place of rae rae and mahu (transvestites and transsexuals) to Papeete, an institution for ages ...". Stéphane Gay recalls: "That's where we were doing the arrivals / departures." In 2010, the Piano bar has become Delirium. A nightclub which was bought by Stéphane Gay on 1 September this year.
To revive the institution, Stéphane Gay account at "the old to help us. We have already contacted us to talk about the shows." Those which already ensure performances at Bora Bora Lounge will be participating.
